Frequently Asked Questions
Production
Are your products made locally or overseas?
Our pieces are all made here in Australia. They are designed and finished off in our studio in Noosa on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland, Australia. Anything that involves lost wax casting is cast in Victoria with our supplier who uses only 100% recycled metal. All shipping between us and our suppliers is carbon neutral.
What metals do you use?
We use only solid Silver or Gold - absolutely no base metals and no plating. We aim to use 100% Recycled Gold and Silver on most of our collections. Unfortunately chains and findings (clasps and earring bits) are not yet available using metal that is 100% recycled, but who knows, we might get there soon. We are working towards having all of our collections be made in recycled metal.
How long will it take to process my order?
In stock items will ship in 1 to 3 business days. If you require anything customised or personalised, and you order with us directly, it could take anywhere up until two to six weeks (depending on how complicated the design request is).
Shipping
Do you offer express shipping?
Absolutely we do! For the moment only for domestic shipping in Australia. Just select the Express shipping option when you’re checking out.
Do you ship internationally?
We do, yes, and we cannot be more excited about it. For the moment the only option we have is the long way round, though, so it takes anything from 17 business days to 30 business days to get to you.
Will International shipping incur duties and taxes?
It likely will - you’ll have to check on the import duty laws in your country though, as they are all different.
How long does it take for my order to be shipped to me in Australia with free shipping?
When your order is for more than $100, you’ll get free shipping. This is regular shipping, not Express, and it could take anywhere from 2 - 8 business days.
Is your shipping Carbon Neutral?
Yes! Another fact we are very happy about. We use two different shipping companies (for different purposes and speeds) and they both have fully offset their carbon footprint through various initiatives and it is built into the price.
Is your packaging environmentally friendly?
Our jewellery boxes are all fully recyclable (just peel off the sticker on the back of the box) and our shipping satchels are 100% home compostable. You can feed them to your worms, put them in your home compost bin, or in your gardening waste bin for street-side collection.
Care, Warranty & Returns
What should I do to keep my jewellery shiny?
Avoid having your jewellery come in direct contact with any chemicals, especially lotions and sprays that are normally used on your skin, like perfume or sunscreen. These could potentially tarnish your jewellery. Store your jewellery out of direct sunlight.
How should I store my jewellery?
I always recommend storing your jewellery in a dedicated spot - either a jewellery box, a trinket tray or the original packaging the jewellery came in. By putting it in the same spot every evening, you can avoid your pieces getting lost. Store your jewellery out of reach of children and out of direct sunlight.
How do I avoid my silver jewellery tarnishing?
Your jewellery should always be the last thing you put on in the morning after your morning skincare and makeup routine, perfume, spf, etc, and it should be the first thing you remove when you get home before you start cooking, showering doing exercise or cleaning. This way you'll avoid your jewellery getting in contact with any chemicals that might tarnish it. Incidentally - wearing your jewellery regularly will keep it shiny and avoid tarnishing, as wearing it inadvertently polishes the surface of the metal.
Do your pieces come with a warranty?
All our pieces at Maxine Noosa comes with a 6 month manufacturer's warranty. After that you will be able to get your piece repaired with us for a job dependant fee.
What is your returns policy?
We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return. To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase. You can read more about our returns policy here.
Sustainability
Do you use Recycled Metal?
Wherever possible, we use 100% recycled Silver and Gold. All of our lost wax casting is done with our supplier in Victoria, and they recycle all their silver and gold locally. Chains and findings (clasps and earring fittings) is unfortunately not yet manufactured with Recycled precious metals, but we are hopeful that will change soon.
Tell us more about your conservation partnerships?
We are passionate about giving back to the environment with our pieces. Maxine Noosa proudly supports the work of the Australian Koala Foundation, and a donation is made from the sale of each piece of the Noosa Koala Collection. We are looking forward to partnering with more conservation foundations close to our hearts and our mission in the future with the launch of more special collections.
What are your sustainability practices?
We have implemented stringent eco friendly practices in our jewellery manufacturing at our studio in Noosa. We aim to use non toxic and environmentally friendly chemicals wherever possible and we sustainably dispose of any chemicals through a waste management company. Our packaging is recyclable and biodegradable, and any travel and freight is carbon offset. We partner with certain conservation foundations to pay it forward in the community and the environment, so that your purchase has more than just the value of the precious metal.
